Privacy policy

This policy explains how personal data is handled on nightfin.app and in the nightfin app. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The short version

• The app has no nightfin account, no analytics and no advertising.
• The app only connects to servers you add yourself (Jellyfin, and Seerr if you choose).
• This website sets no cookies, uses no tracking and loads no third-party scripts or fonts.

The app

When you sign in, nightfin stores your server address and an access token on your device so you stay signed in. Your library, watch progress and profiles live on your own Jellyfin server and are sent directly between your device and that server. We never receive this data.

If you connect Seerr, requests are sent directly from your device to your Seerr server.

nightfin does not sell anything inside the app.

This website

The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA in Geneva, Switzerland. When you visit, the host processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of access in server logs. This is needed to deliver the site securely and is not used to identify you.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Donations

Voluntary donations are handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers (PayPal or Stripe). Their own privacy policies apply. From Ko-fi we receive only what you choose to share, such as your name, email address, the amount and an optional message. We never see your payment details. Donations are a gift and come with no goods or services in return.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Write to nightfin.app@outlook.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Switzerland, the FDPIC).

Terms of use

nightfin is provided free of charge, as is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep it working well, but we can't guarantee it will be available at all times or work with every server or device.

nightfin is a player and does not provide, host or distribute any media. You are responsible for the content on your server and for having the rights to watch it.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from the use of the app or this website.

These terms are governed by Swiss law.

nightfin is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the Jellyfin project. Jellyfin is a trademark of its respective owners. Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV, macOS, iPhone, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are trademarks of their respective owners and are mentioned only to describe compatibility.
